Dear Families and Supporters of the Francophone Charter School of Oakland,
Our school is going strong in its second year thanks to the efforts of our wonderful community. We are indebted to the students, teachers and families who support our mission of providing a tuition-free public school that develops student into open-minded, bilingual and bi-literate global citizens. We firmly believe that our efforts to provide a dual-immersion curriculum to the diverse Oakland community is now more important than ever.
We launched our annual Direct Ask campaign at Back to School Night, Sept. 15, and are grateful for all the Francophone parents who contributed. Today we are launching our Direct Ask Campaign here on our Parent Square portal. We are inviting everyone to give by December 31. The funds raised during the Direct Ask Campaign support critical programs such as faculty professional development, student support resources, daily operations, and a strong cash reserve to keep our school healthy.
Our goal is to raise $83,000, which comes out to $500 per student.
We completely understand that not every family is in a position to give $500. Donating is never a requirement in order to attend our school. However, we are applying for some grants that will only fund our projects if we have 100% family participation in our primary fundraising effort. So, no amount is too small — a gift of $5 counts. We really want every family to participate, no matter the size of the gift. And your giving status will be kept confidential. We will only share the percentage of families who give, and the total amount raised.
If you prefer to give offline, you can give by cash or check (payable to Francophone Charter School of Oakland). Drop off your cash or check at the office with the name of your child and the words “Direct Ask” on the memo line of your check.
If your extended family would like to donate for the Direct Ask campaign they can do so on the school website at www.francophoneschool.org/donate. They will need to add the name of the student and the words “Direct Ask” in the note field. They can also send a check as well with the name of the student and the words “Direct Ask” on the memo line of their check.
Thank you for all your support!
The Francophone Fundraising Team
