Breakfast and lunch are available for free for all students. We are operating under California’s Universal Status law, which allows all students to receive meals free for the entirety of the school year. However, our school relies on families completing the Universal Benefits Application for educational funding throughout the year — regardless of your income, we need 100% of Francophone families to fill out the form.

This application may qualify your child for benefits such as Summer EBT/SUN Bucks, internet access, school transportation, and more. Inquire with your child’s school district to learn what benefits may be available to them. Completing this application will not impact your student’s ability to receive school meals at no cost.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services do not consider health, food, and housing services as part of the public charge determination. Therefore, submitting this application will not hurt an individual’s immigration status.
A non-household member may be designated as the authorized representative for application processing purposes if they have difficulty completing the application process.
Please follow all steps printed in each section of the Universal Benefits Application, so we can determine your eligibility properly for Summer EBT.
If you intend to move, or have recently moved, you should apply for benefits in the state where your child will complete or completed the school year immediately preceding the summer operational period.
Please never send or bring to school any product containing tree nuts or peanuts. This includes things like peanut butter cookies, Nutella, certain granola bars, etc.
Each year we have a range of food allergies present among our students, and we need everyone’s support to keep our school inclusive and safe. We maintain a list of suitable food for each classroom based on that year’s allergies and food restrictions, and share it with parents once the list is final. Classroom celebrations such as birthdays are organized at teachers’ discretion.
Students may bring a labeled lunch box with a nutritious, nut-free, candy-free lunch, or receive school-provided lunch. Please note there is no fridge or microwave available for students.
Every school day, we provide a meat and a vegetarian option for your child’s school lunch.
If your child requires a meal modification based on a medical need, please submit a doctor’s note together with the Medical Statement for Meal Modification form to rcampa@francophoneschool.org. As soon as the document is on file, we will begin ordering meals that fit your child’s dietary needs.

The Wellness Committee consists of staff, parents, and community members who gather twice per school year to respond to gaps in nutrition education and physical activity at our school. Meeting recordings, the Wellness Policy, and other resources are available to all families.
Allergies, dietary needs, menus, or the benefits application — the front office can answer any of it.
